🔥 Chasing Fire: A Night at Kīlauea 🔥
There’s nothing quite like standing on the edge of creation—feeling the heat of molten earth, hearing the distant rumble of shifting rock, and watching as new land is born beneath a sky painted with fire and moonlight.
This shot captures my friend Tyson in the heart of the action, carefully setting up his camera to document Kīlauea’s raw power. The adventure to get here wasn’t easy—miles of rugged lava fields, navigating unstable terrain, and the ever-present reminder that nature is in control. Every step is a lesson in respect, patience, and preparedness.
Photographing an active volcano is more than just a thrill—it’s a responsibility. The dangers are real: toxic gases, ground collapses, and extreme heat. But with the right knowledge and deep respect for the land, moments like this become possible.
This is why I do what I do. To witness, to capture, and to share the incredible energy of our planet. Nature is the greatest artist—we’re just here to tell its story.
